Novelty Jewellery Emporium has been trading in Delhi’s Chandni Chowk since 1951. It has decades of knowledge, a shop full of gifting pieces and novelties, and a founder who can talk about every one of them. What it did not have was an Instagram audience: around 200 followers.
The big idea
Turn founder-led content into a growth engine. Instead of polished ads, put the person who knows the products in front of the camera, in the shop, showing and explaining them.
The hook: “Hanji, kya haal hai?”
Every video opens with the same line: “Hanji, kya haal hai?” It is warm, local and instantly recognisable. A repeated opener is a small thing, but it is what turns a one-off video into a series people come back for.
What happened
- 200 to 4,000+followers in about two months
- 317Kviews on the second video, organically
- 10,000+leads generated
- ₹0spent on ads
The comment section did a lot of the work. People did not just like the videos; they asked for prices. Those product-price questions became purchase enquiries, and they kept coming. In two months, sales nearly doubled.
Why it worked
- The founder knows the product better than anyone, and it shows.
- A signature opener made every video recognisable in the first second.
- The videos answered the questions customers already had, so the comments turned into enquiries.
- Everything was organic. Every view was earned and every connection was real.
One simple idea, a little experimentation and a lot of listening to the audience turned into organic growth, real engagement and sales that nearly doubled, without spending a single rupee on ads.
